Future, the company behind a number of Gaming magazines have announced the launch of a new Playstation 3 magazine. The new publication will be the Official Playstation 3 magazine delivered via the Playstation Network.

Playstation 3 users will be able to download the new magazine straight on to their consoles from Playstation Network sometime in the New Year.

Future have already seen success in the US with their magazine Qore, which is the official magazine for the Playstation Network on that side of the Atlantic.

Earlier this year Future published figures that showed the purchase of Gaming magazines was growing broadband isp service with the Official Playstation Magazine showing an increase in circulation of 12% in their last review period. With broadband internet access websites such as Gamesradar.com cuti-cuti malaysia announcing increases in visitor numbers of around 35% as well, it would seem that the this new way of delivering Playstation 3 News and Reviews will prove popular with users of the Playstation Network.

Senior vice-president for Sony in the UK, Ray Maguire said: "As PlayStation 3 moves the gaming experience to a more social and competitive online environment, so the natural development in line with our consumers' choice of media is to produce a companion publication in the digital realm.".

Although it will undobtedly serve a similar purpose for Sony, promoting much of the new Live content and services available through Playstation Network, its publishers have hinted that it will be a publication fit for the download generation.
